Position Overview

MES is seeking a highly skilled Event Management & Business Development Executive with 5-6 years of relevant experience to independently manage and coordinate events, business development activities, and back-office operations. The ideal candidate will be proficient in French and Swahili, with prior work experience in Africa preferred. This individual will play a key role in event planning, vendor coordination, billboard management, and ensuring smooth execution of marketing and operational tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Event Management

  • Independently plan, execute, and coordinate all types of events, including corporate events, promotional campaigns, and BTL activations.
  • Develop event strategies, schedules, and budgets to meet organizational objectives.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely and high-quality event execution.
  • Oversee the procurement of event materials, ensuring alignment with branding and quality standards.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to measure success and identify areas for improvement.

Billboard Management

  • Handle end-to-end management of billboard projects, including identifying locations, sourcing vendors, and supervising installation.
  • Coordinate with local vendors and installation teams to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Monitor the condition of installed billboards and manage maintenance schedules as needed.

Business Development Support

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities to drive company growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Prepare business proposals, presentations, and quotations for potential and existing clients.
  • Actively follow up on leads and opportunities to close deals and achieve targets.

Back-Office Operations

  • Prepare quotations, contracts, and payment follow-ups with clients and vendors.
  • Manage inventory control, ensuring timely availability of resources.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date reports, including monthly MIS and activity reports.
  • Vendor Coordination & Reporting
  • Liaise with vendors to understand material requirements, negotiate pricing, and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on event performance, marketing activities, and operational tasks.

Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Event Management, or a related field.
  • 5-6 years of relevant experience in event management, business development, or back-office operations.
  • Previous work experience in Africa is highly preferred.

Language Proficiency

  • Fluency in French and Swahili is a significant advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Basic budgeting and financial tracking skills.

Soft Skills

  • Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
